• Most of the people do not know that having two British passports at the same time is even possible.
• The process to apply for second UK passport can be done with just the photocopy of the applicants existing passport, the original is not required
• This can be done on a same day service through GAN Visa.

• If your work or business requires back-to-back travel to different countries, there might be a chance that if you apply for visa to one country, it may take some time for the passport to arrive and if during that period you have to travel some other place then having a single passport will hinder your travel plans. To avoid such situations, applying for a second passport is advisable. It allows you to travel whilst applying for visas at second embassy at the same time without waiting for the passport to arrive.
• Second passport is also quite beneficial when you are frequently travelling to incompatible countries or those countries which are in conflict with each other. For example, if you have travelled to Syria for some work and now you want to visit Saudi Arabia (both the countries are hostile to each other), your visa may be rejected or will take long time to process if your passport carries a Syrian stamp. Same way, if your passport has an Israeli stamp on it, you may not be able to entry Iran, Lebanon and few other middle east countries. To avoid such situations, it is better to hold 2 passports so that your visa is not rejected on account of hostile countries.
• Second passport is also prudent for those who are constantly on move such as pilots, flight attendants, and people who are working on oil rigs
• Applicants that do not live in the UK, and in case they need a back-up passport. Eg live in Middle East but it is suitable to have a concurrent passport in the UK.
• If you are not a very frequent traveller, then a single passport will be enough but if you are a very frequent traveller, then it is advisable to carry a second passport as the pages of your first passport will fill up rather quickly with all the visiting country entry/exit stamps and you will have to re-apply for passports all the time. In such cases it is better to keep 2 passports to avoid yourself from the stress and hassle of applying just before you are travelling.

• Countersignature for the passport application is required if appearance has changed and you can't be recognised from your existing passport photo.
• Original passport is required if the application is for renewal.
• If your original passport is damaged then it will be destroyed and not returned to you. We advise that you should photocopy all relevant pages showing stamps and visas, which may help in obtaining replacements.
• The Passport Office operates an appointment system. The processing time quoted for all services is dependent on the next available appointment and cannot be guaranteed
• You may renew a passport at any time. Any remaining time left on your passport (up to 9 months) will be added to your new one.
• Applicant with dual nationality must provide both original passports.
• We are required by the passport office to pay for all applications prior to booking. We book all our submissions once all documents have arrived to ensure that no risk of fee loss occurs. Note that our processing time will begin from the booked appointment date.
• If you are self-employed then supporting letters for UK second passport must be issued by your accountant on their official letter-headed paper.
