Kuwait Attestation & Legalisation

Kuwait Visa Attestation Service

Kuwait Attestation and Legalisation Service

Various kinds of documents could require legalisation, ranging from personal documents, such as birth certificates and marriage certificates, to educational certificates, business documents and commercial documents before they can be used in Kuwait for example, if you are planning on working or moving to Kuwait. It is an important step-in long-term Kuwait visa application for UK citizens.

As Kuwait is not a member of the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention, documents and certificates  issued in the UK need both an apostille stamp from the FCO (Foreign & Commonwealth Office) and Legalisation by Kuwait Embassy  in London. The FCO further needs certain documents to be certified, signed and dated by a Notary Public or Solicitor in the UK, registered with the FCO and part of its London database. This process has to be completed before the regulatory body issues the apostille certificate to the documents. Additionally, commercial documents need to be stamped by the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in London, before legalisation by the Kuwait Embassy. So, the process of document legalisation for use in Kuwait can be completed in three steps;
  1. Firstly Verification and attestation is completed by an accredited Notary Public or Solicitor in the UK
  2. Next the FCO issues an apostille certificate
  3. The final step is Kuwait Embassy legalisation
