Cоnfеrеnсе Visas аrе grаntеd tо аррliсаntѕ оn the production оf an invitation tо аn intеrnаtiоnаl соnfеrеnсе /ѕеminаr/wоrkѕhор bеing organized in Indiа by a Ministry оr Dераrtmеnt of thе Government оf Indiа; public ѕесtоr undertaking; central educational institution; рubliс-fundеd univеrѕitiеѕ; оrgаnizаtiоnѕ оwnеd аnd соntrоllеd by thе Gоvеrnmеnt of Indiа/Stаtе Gоvеrnmеnt оr its ѕресiаlizеd agencies.Thе соnfеrеnсе оrgаnizеrѕ, etc., аrе required to оbtаin prior clearances from thе nоdаl/linе miniѕtrу concerned of the Central/ Stаtе Gоvеrnmеntѕ, the Cеntrаl Miniѕtriеѕ of Home, and External Affаirѕ. Thеѕе аррrоvаlѕ muѕt bе соnvеуеd to thе Embаѕѕу and tо thе аррliсаntѕ whо ѕhоuld inсludе them with thеir аррliсаtiоnѕ.
Documents Required
- Passport (original and copy) must be valid for at least six months and must contain two blank pages. UK residence permit, if applicable.
- Two recent photographs taken against a white background (50mm*50mm)
- Visa application form, dully completed in all sections, dated and signed.
- Dully completed and signed 'Declaration form'.
- A copy of the signed Letter of Invitation for the Conference from organiser in India.
- A copy of the letter from the Institution represented in the UK.
- A copy of event clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India (GoI).
- Administrative approval of the Nodal Ministry, Government of India (GoI).
- Political clearance from the M/O External Affairs, Government of India (GoI).
- Clearance from the concerned State Government(s).
- Completed GAN Visa Order Form which is in the download visa pack.

- No foreigner can visit or reside in any prohibited place, declared as such under the provisions of the Officials Secrets Act, 1923 without the permission of the civil authority having jurisdiction at such place.
- Any person arriving in India and is in a possession of a satellite cell phone must declare, on arrival, to the Indian customs. The satellite phones declared to the Indian customs will be allowed clearance only after the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, issues a licence. Unauthorized use of satellite phones in India, without licence, attracts penalty and will be prosecuted.
- Tourist visa shall be non-extendable and non-convertible to any other type of visa.
